Do You Find Yourself Losing Personal Training Clients?

In any personal training business, client retention is very important. I believe one of the main reasons that personal trainers lose clients is because of conflict. Conflict can be very obvious if someone voices complaint but sometimes personal trainers have to really listen to identify if a client isn’t happy. If a personal trainer has build up a lot of rapport with a client over time, it is easy to miss little signals that may mean a client isn’t happy. The personal training business is mainly results driven so if results aren’t being achieved then the personal fitness trainer has to take responsibility for this. It can be quite easy to get into a conflict with a client when expectations have not been managed for example. There seems to be a scarity mentality sometimes so trainers feel they have to take client’s money and hope for the best. The truth is that the relationship won’t last that long if the client has unrealistic goals that aren’t honestly discussed at the outset. The worst thing that can happen to a personal trainer is a situation where a conflict occurs with a client. We have to remember that personal training is a luxury item and if we do the slightest thing wrong, we may risk losing a client. Managing the clients expectations is a very basic skill and I believe should be done even if it means losing a few clients before they have started training with you.The second important way to avoid conflict is dealing with financial

Solutions to Men’s Health Issues

Men’s health issues are pretty much the same everywhere in the developed world. Men are often reluctant to visit a health professional so they may miss out on chances to improve their health and prevent illness. Delaying seeking medical advice can sometimes turn a relatively minor health problem into a more serious concern. Men get much less active encouragement to use health services than women. Some health centres offer men’s-specific health checks, but there could be many more of them. In a survey of GPs, men had fewer tests and investigations, received less health advice than women, and therefore have less chance to build a relationship with their doctor or nurse. Men can find it hard to talk about physical discomfort or emotional distress. Research shows that men don’t live as long as women and are more at risk of accidents, injuries, suicide and some illnesses. Statistically, men of lower socio-economic status, and men who live alone, have more health problems. Men have fewer years free from disability and poor health. Not to mention the statistics on smoking, drinking and obesity. What can we do about these issues?Clearly men don’t like being told what to do, particularly about men’s health issues. And the current prescriptive climate amongst medical practitioners needs to be recognised as a contributing factor to the reluctance for men to seek medical advice. Why visit a doctor who has only 15 minutes to spend with you, nowhere near long

Another New Year has started and all those New Years resolutions for getting to the gym, losing weight and getting fit have come and gone right? Relax. This is perfectly normal and it happens to 99% of people who make those promises. Most people start each New Year with the very best of intentions. They want to get fit and lose those unwanted pounds so they get their shiny new gym membership card and promise that they’ll go to the gym at least 3 times per week. What happens to most people is they go to the gym, spend a few minutes on each of the machines they like the look of, head to the sauna and then go home feeling a bit deflated. There’s no structure to what they’re doing and because of this they consistently fail to achieve any kind of results. Definitely not the results they were expecting when they joined that expensive gym. And this is where the New Years resolution dies – the point of feeling like a failure. That you’ll never be good enough. What will make the difference to your health and fitness goals is a personal trainer. Your body is an engine and a personal trainer can help you fine tune its performance so that you get the most from it.But why would you want to use a personal trainer? Aren’t they’re just for celebrities and rich folks? Not at all and you’d be surprised at just how many of your friends are using personal trainers but keeping it a total secret!Hiring a personal trainer isn’t as expensive as you
